Simple Woman's Daybook | 10.1.2012

The Simple Woman's Daybook
                                   FOR TODAY

Outside my window...
Grey and gloomy. A day to curl up with blankets and book, not teach school. ;)

I am thinking...
About how we have got to start school---in five minutes!

I am thankful...
Bubbles slept 10 hours last night without waking. He has been so tired and so miserable with teeth and a cold, that this was the best thing for him.

In the kitchen...
Crockpot roast with roasted potatoes today, black bean enchiladas with vegan cheese tomorrow. Wednesday leftovers. After that, to be decided.

I am wearing...
Dressy jeans and top.

I am creating...
Bible studies for Perfect Joy.
And I would love it if I could create some sewing projects this week.

I am going...
Too many places this week!

I am wondering...
Hmmm. . . nothing really today. :)

I am reading... (still)

Women Who Hurt Themselves: A Book Of Hope And Understanding
(for counseling purposes, in case anyone wonders ;)

 and
Educating the WholeHearted Child -- Third Edition
(Best book e.v.e.r. for home schooling Mamas --esp those wondering if they can succeed)

I am hoping...
For a GREAT day of school!

I am looking forward to...
My workout later this afternoon and then a quiet evening as a family.

I am learning...
To spend time with people who are easy to spend time with instead of those who are consistently negative or always seem to have an issue with you no matter what you do or constantly complain about their roles as wives and mothers or who gossip about others or. . .
The beauty is, there are people are are the complete opposite of difficult and time invested in those friendships is so very much worth it. Time is precious and rare. To give it to the relationships/friendships which cause me to walk away refreshed, encouraged, and wanting to be more of a woman of God is valuable beyond words.

Around the house...
Miraclegirl is playing and Bubbles is "erasing" the wall with the classroom eraser---oops, now he's into the math manipulatives. ;)

I am pondering...
The difference between people who are quick and easy to take offense
versus
hearts are so wounded, that things hurt quickly and deeply and it's not offense but a raw heart.

A favorite quote for today...
  Love through me, Love of God;
Make me like thy clear air
Through which, unhindered, colors pass
As though it were not there.
                        ~ Amy Carmichael

One of my favorite things...
Writing and impacting lives with my writing.

A few plans for the rest of the week...
Three Doctor appointments (ugh), church, mentoring, visit with Handsome's cousins who teach English in another country and are in the States for a few days.

A peek into my day

(Saturday actually)
