10.22.2012 | Simple Woman's Daybook

The Simple Woman's Daybook
                                    FOR TODAY

Outside my window...
It's the morning "golden hour" and I can see the rise of the fog on the pond down, across the road.

I am thinking...
About so very many things. In fact, my brain is weary, I'm turning so many things over, so repeatedly.

I am thankful...
God knows more than I do, His ways are not mine, and everything that's got me muddled in mind and spirit are in His capable hands.

In the kitchen...
GF cornbread for breakfast, fruit and veggies are ready for the mid-morning juicing session, and Salmon cakes with lime, cliantro rice and acorn squash are in the queue for the noon meal.

I am wearing...
Tan skirt, white blouse, big green scarf--and barefeet with heeled sandals near by. ;)

I am creating...
Another sewing project.
Photos for learning Lightroom.

I am going...
To buy a new phone today because I dropped mine when getting home late one night and it spent the night in the grass. Despite being in rice, it is officially dead. And while a new phone wasn't in our budget plan, I'm waiting on biopsy results and need one sooner than later so I can take the call when the call comes.

I am wondering...
Just how much the phone is going to cost. . . what my biopsy results will reveal. . . and how situations that seem so upside down and turmoiled, will resolve and how long it will take.

I am reading...

The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 Book for Digital Photographers (Voices That Matter)

The Chase: A Novel (Crime Scene: Houston)

And still:
Women Who Hurt Themselves: A Book Of Hope And Understanding
(for counseling purposes, in case anyone wonders ;)

 and
Educating the WholeHearted Child -- Third Edition
(Best book e.v.e.r. for home schooling Mamas --esp those wondering if they can succeed)

I am hoping...
The new phone doesn't cost and arm a leg, that I can get a workout in, despite having to go buy a new phone, and that we can do a library trip as well.

I am looking forward to...
The weekend---already. ;-)
Sewing later in the week, on a not-so-busy day.

I am learning...
That true friends can have much different opinions or perspectives than you but your friendship can still stay intact and even stronger. This is huge for a person who has spent a large part of life running from conflict and denying her thoughts in order to keep peace.

Around the house...
Kids are waiting for school to start. Bubbles with a DVD, Miraclegirl with drawing and cutting some new project of hers she has invented.

I am pondering...
Just how much of life really needs to be directed by God. More on this, this coming week, but there are SO many ways of eating out there, that it can grow quite confusing
(grains, no grain. . .meat, no meat. . . raw food only, cooked foods but only whole ones. . . )
So even with eating I need God's direction. And His direction for time management and money management. I need Him to direct every, single area of my life, plain and simple.

A favorite quote for today...
Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.

Lead me in your truth and teach me . . .
He leads the humble in what is right,
and teaches the humble his way.

All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness,

for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies. . .

Who is the man who fears the Lord?
Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose. . .
The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him,
and he makes known to them his covenant.
                                               ~ Taken from Psalm 25

One of my favorite things...
Fall mornings with the golden light of the sun and leaves and misty fog. So beautiful!

A few plans for the rest of the week...
School, sewing, photography study, co-op, and soaking in my beautiful family.

A peek into my day
