It seems we are getting a second cycle of monarchs this summer.
The friend that taught us how to raise them, messaged me last week to tell me she found another cycle of caterpillars. So that night, we went out hunting for some ourselves.
Miraclegirl was thrilled to discover her first ever one. Frustration has abounded over the lack of finding one and her world became complete.
Bubbles got in on the action but his method was to try to smush them rather than be in awe of them.
Handsome heard Miraclegirl's excitement from the driveway and came to join us for a bit.
We found three but two have since died. :(
Apparently a 2nd generation is not as hardy.
However, even as I type this, I glance over, and the big one Miraclegirl found is in the process of forming it's chrysalis.
One more butterfly for the summer.
