Tranquility

Tranquility.

It is not found in a luxurious master bedroom with decorations that inspire love and romance and sanctuary.

It is not dependent upon an uncluttered home with beautifully decorated walls, end tables, and space to walk.

It doesn’t need furniture to be placed just so and boxes to be unpacked, with each item put in it’s place.

It can be found despite dressers sitting next to entertainment centers

and kid’s beds and changing table forming the sleeping area. . . in the living room just behind the couch.

Tranquility doesn’t need a home school area set up like a dream Etsy shop or as a model for Pinterest

And it doesn’t need every last belonging to be unpacked, but instead, still kept in storage tubs and boxes until the rooms are built for them to go into.
The heart can still have tranquility, even when scaffolding is as good as a closet as you’re gonna get for awhile

and the master bedroom has a deep, dark trench dug into the floor--that is bringing in moles and mice--not to mention the wall situation. . .

While tranquility can be found in a nice, hot bath, it is not fully reliant on one and can instead, be experienced, even when hot water is not yet available and piles of gravel decorate the bathroom instead of bath mats and sink decorations.

Tranquilty does not need a working stove or even a stove top that is free of hot water heaters that husbands have placed there for the “time being’.
and it can even be found despite not one, but two cordless drills lining the counter with the electrical griddle that most meals, being made up of grilled cheese and eggs, are being fixed on, given the stove situation.

No, tranquility is found in keeping the heart focused on the blessings surrounding you in the inner circle of the chaos around you.

The goofy, snuggly, children with their smirks, giggles, and grins.
The look of pure happiness when, what to you in unfinished work, is a play station for them that brings utter delight.

Tranquility comes from a heart resting in the Keeper of the Universe, who can bring order to even a Type A heart that normally would be turmoiled because of an unfinished home lacking even basic conveniences.

Of quiet, sunlit mornings where sitting in a rocking chair, you find yourself at the foot of The Throne, and piled up dresser drawers become altars of sacrifice.

It’s found in daily reading of His love letter and it’s found in the beauty of His creation outside of the windows.

It is found in the heart singing praises to the Creator and Author of the Story that has written the story line where you are currently found.

In quiet moments of worship despite the surroundings and the circumstances.
Tranquility comes from the Calmer of the storms and Walker of waves.

It is found from a soul centered on heaven not on earth.

Tranquility comes from the joy that knows that the rough, chaotic, crazy parts are part of the Greater Story and are building the main theme into one beautiful climax that will resound throughout all of eternity.
