* An OOOHHHH !!! Kind of Life *

My almost-1-year old has started doing the cutest thing. I'm not even sure where she picked it up.

She notices things and points and them and goes, "Ooohhhhhhh!!!" with great excitment. The cat, a clock, her sippy cup, a tree, getting the mail, the Cheerio box, a toy. . . . anything can elict this "oooohhhhh!"

The other day we were walking, her snug in her Moby wrap, and pointing out things as we walked, going "Ohhhhhh!" and it made me wonder where my sense of "oooohhhh!" went. Surely I was a child who once thought "ooohhhh!" as I took everything in.

When did I become so used to flowers and rain and leaves that I no longer "oooohhhhhh!" over them?

At what point in my marriage did I wake up and no longer roll over and go "oooohhhh!" because my handsome hubby was laying there and I was thrilled to be married after years of being single?

Have I already ceased to go walk into Miracle's room and stand my her crib and whisper "Ooohhhh!" as I looked down at this answer to years of prayer?

Do I open gifts and politely thank the person, acting all grown up and serious, when inside I'm going, "oooohhhh!' because I love it so much --but I'm too "mature" to exclaim it?

I want to live an "Ohhhhh!" kind of life. I want my days to be filled with wonder and excitment. I don't even want to be so grown up or tired or grumpy that I don't see something in my day that makes me go "oooohhhhh!"
